Dunkirk Aviation Flight School is a
Federal Aviation Administration Part 141, Veteran's
Administration, and New York State Education approved
flight school located at the Chautauqua County/Dunkirk
Airport in Dunkirk, NY.
The flight school is family owned and operated
with roots back to 1945. Mr. John J. Nalbone Sr. founded
the flight school at the Werle Airport in 1945 after
several years of teaching pilots how to fly during World
War II.
Dunkirk Aviation was issued its Part 141 Pilot
School certificate by the FAA in 1947. In 1958, Mr.
Nalbone moved
the flight school to its current location at the Dunkirk
Airport. And in 1970, Dunkirk Aviation Flight School
joined with the Cessna Aircraft Company to become one of
the original Cessna Pilot Center charter members
when Cessna founded the CPC program of integrated flight
training.
Our goal is to
provide superior training at affordable prices, while
ensuring complete customer satisfaction.

aircraft or one of ours, training as a student pilot all
the way up through an Airline Transport Pilot certificate,
you will always receive professional and personalized
instruction in all aspects of your pilot training.
Dunkirk Aviation Flight School is Western New York's
largest flight school. Our resources include several
aircraft, numerous full-time and part-time
Flight Instructors, a Designated
Pilot Examiner, CATS (computerized FAA written exam
testing with the convenience of instant results), Computer
Based Instruction (an interactive, multimedia,
CD-ROM-based ground school program that allows you to
learn at your own pace on your home computer, and also
keeps track of your progress), and numerous training
videos.
Dunkirk
Aviation Flight School is an authorized Cessna Pilot
Center and FAA-approved Part 141 Pilot School which offers
Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot,
Multi-Engine Rating, Certified Flight Instructor,
Instrument Flight Instructor, Multi-Engine Flight
Instructor, and Airline Transport Pilot courses. You
may enter any of these courses at any time -- your flight
training is tailored to your needs and schedule. We
also offer Flight Reviews, and Instrument Proficiency
Checks. And our flight school offers you the choice of
performing any of your flight training in either brand new
Cessna aircraft or older vintage Cessna airplanes.
